John F. Barnes PT Approach(TM) and acupressure provide gentle techniques of stretching, acupressure, and massage to guide you to a pain free active lifestyle. These techniques will restore movement, improve energy, reduce pain and increase function.

I began study in Traditional Chinese Medicine (Acupuncture, Acupressure, Chinese Herbs) in 2002. I was certified in Acupuncture in 2006 with 4000 hours of training. I went to Massage Therapy School in 2008 and I am a Licensed Massage Therapist in the State of Alabama. I have over 200 hours of training in Myofascial Release John F. Barnes PT Approach. I have practiced yoga since 1979.

Each Massage Session lasts one hour or one and one half hours. You will receive an assessment to establish a treatment plan. Your individual needs will be addressed in the very first session and continue thereafter. The frequency of your visits will depend on the complexity of your situation.

You will be provided instruction on the use of instruments of self treatment, such as the yellow ball, theracane, foam rollers, stretching, etc.

59 year old client began coming to see me in October of 2014. She complained of long standing cervical stenosis. Her symptoms were mostly tightness, stiffness and pain in the neck and shoulder area. She had few headaches. The photo on the Left is my client prior to receiving Myofascial Release John Barnes Approach. You can see that her head is cocked to the Left. Her face appears to be sitting on top of 2 concrete columns (These are her Sternocleidomastoid Muscles) Her skin is stretched tightly over the bones and muscles.  You can especially see the clavicles. You can see indentations where the trapezius muscles are tight. The photo on the Right is my client after 8 months of Myofascial Release John Barnes Approach therapy. You can see where her skin is relaxed. The Columns (Sternocleidomastiods) that held her head up are now replaced with smooth strong, supple muscles. This is a perfect example of transformation that accompanies the process of Myofascial Release, Physical Therapy and my client’s personal dedication to her own well being. She began coming once a week for a month. Then she came twice a month for 3 months. Now she is down to a maintenance treatment of once a month. Besides being an attractive woman you can see that she now has a relaxed beautiful smile,
